Alessandro Baronciani

He is one of Italy’s best-known illustrators and cartoonists. An eclectic artist and musician, he moved to Milan after studying at the Scuola del Libro in Urbino to work as art director in creative agencies. He published his first graphic novel in 2006 and has not stopped since, working on self-publishing projects as well as for major publishers. Since 2023 he has been the artistic director of the Regina Fumetti Festival where comics become concerts.

Gioia's Dream

Alessandro Baronciani brings his vision to life in a story woven from the threads of reality and imagination. Immersed in the memories of the Capurso family, amid tales of the people of Gioia del Colle and the sounds of the Murge plateau, he gives shape to the invisible through the visionary gaze of little Ciccio and Ninuccio, the brothers Francesco and Sebastiano Capurso as children. Their encounter with the mysterious female figure created by the artist encapsulates all the magic of a dream that, day after day, comes true.
